This article is dedicated to the analysis of information management systems (IMS) and their role in supporting managerial decisions at various levels of organizational hierarchy. The introduction emphasizes the necessity of collecting, processing, and distributing information, which is particularly crucial for captains and managers in the planning and control processes. Three levels of managerial activity are examined: strategic, tactical, and operational, each requiring specific information for effective management.

The work also analyzes global experience in the organization of IMS on ships, including principles of their architecture and technical characteristics. The importance of user involvement in system design is highlighted, along with the need for staff training and cost optimization, which collectively enhance the efficiency of IMS. A critical aspect is the correct selection of information, which is vital for achieving management objectives.

A key element of the article is the mathematical model for in-depth calculation of IMS during the research design phase, which facilitates computer experiments. The process of planning and conducting experiments using the developed formulas is described, illustrating the practical application of theoretical aspects in real-world conditions.
