Currently, researchers are investigating three main methods of mitochondrial replacement therapy: pronuclear transfer, maternal spindle transfer, and polar body genome transfer. Thanks to these methods, the transmission of faulty mitochondrial DNA from the mother to the next generation can be prevented, with the main goal of developing a healthy offspring free of genetic disorders and lethal mitochondrial diseases. However, the implementation of these technologies has raised several moral, social, and cultural concerns, as it marks the emergence of a child with genetic material from three parents for the first time. This review presents an objective summary of the causes of mitochondrial disorders and various techniques employed in mitochondrial replacement therapy, along with their outcomes.</p>
Таким образом, в этом обзоре кратко изложены причины появления митохондриальных заболеваний, описываются различные методы, используемые в митохондриальной заместительной терапии, а также результаты их применения.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>mitochondrial diseases</kwd><kwd>mitochondrial DNA</kwd><kwd>mitochondrial replacement therapy</kwd><kwd>three-parent child</kwd><kwd>review</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>митохондриальные болезни</kwd><kwd>митохондриальная ДНК</kwd><kwd>митохондриальная заместительная терапия</kwd><kwd>ребёнок от трёх родителей</kwd><kwd>обзор</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Holt IJ, Harding AE, Morgan-Hughes JA.
