Аннотация

В статье рассматривается так называемая полная версия валлийского исторического континуума в том виде, в котором она отражена в двух кодексах: Jesus 141 и NLW 5277B. Второй из указанных рукописных текстов, составленный в 1604–1608 гг. Джоном Джонсом из Геллилифди, был точной копией первого (создан не позднее 1497 г. Гитином Оуайном). Предметом исследования является первая часть континуума – произведение Y Bibyl Ynghymraec, представляющее собой валлийский перевод широко известного в Средние века сочинения Петра из Пуатье (ок. 1125–1205) Compendium historiae in genealogia Christi. Анализируя текст Y Bibyl и характерные для него интерполяции, автор статьи показывает, какую роль средневековое валлийское историописание отводило ветхозаветным генеалогиям при рассмотрении вопроса о происхождении бриттов/валлийцев. Для формируемого в этом произведении исторического нарратива троянский контекст представлял особую актуальность, поскольку падение Илиона знаменовало начало новой эры, отличавшейся от всех предшествующих эпох своей исчислимостью, открывавшей перспективы для синхронизации исторических событий. В статье также рассматриваются источники формирования традиции и особенности, связанные с последующей трансмиссией текстов. Высказывается предположение, что ограничивающие популярность первого текста континуума факторы были связаны с отсутствием более или менее четкой идентификации его жанровой специфики. Определенную сдерживающую роль играла и валлийская генеалогическая традиция.
